Terrorism, extremism do not belong to any single religion: President

President Dr. Arif Alvi has said that terrorism and extremism do not belong to any single religion and Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) preached for forgiveness and peace.

He was addressing the National Interfaith Peace Conference in Lahore today.

The President said all religions across the world teach peace and brotherhood.

The President said during the recent Pak-India tension at the LoC, the entire political leadership, people and media of the country endeavoured for peace and tried their utmost for de-escalation.

He said Pakistan has been rendering valuable and unprecedented sacrifices for the establishment of peace at the cost of seventy thousand lives.

He said the people of Indian-held Kashmir are struggling for their right to self-determination and they would keep giving sacrifices till the achievement of their fundamental rights.

Dr Arif Alvi said all the minorities are enjoying equal rights in Pakistan as per the constitution.

He said the PTI government is fully committed to promote inter-faith harmony and communal brotherhood in the country.

Earlier, MNA Shaneelah Rooth in her address stressed upon the need of promotion of inter-faith harmony and peace amongst the various communities so as to make Pakistan an epicenter of peace and tranquility.

She paid rich tribute to the soldiers of armed forces for rendering sacrifices for the protection of people of different faiths and restoration of peace.
